small gymlimited pastries
I found some aspects needed improvement. the gym was quite small. it only had two treadmills. there was also no dedicated stretching area which i found inconvenient. the equipment looked dated, especially the weight machines. I believe they could benefit from an upgrade. the variety of breakfast pastries was somewhat limited. A greater selection would be welcome.

really good staffuncaring chefdisappointing food
the staff were really good!!! they went out of their way to assist us.
The food was a real letdown this time. i arranged catering for my vegan daughter, even providing vegan butter, cream, and oat milk. the chef didn't seem interested in her needs at all, a stark contrast to the previous chef who always made special vegan desserts. i also heard others complain about the food. One guest said it was their first and last visit.

Excellent Stay in Drakensberg's Foothills

helpful staffwide choiceenjoyable walksmissing schedule
I appreciated the friendly and helpful staff (they were always ready to assist). The meals included a mind-boggling array of choice. I also liked the walks and hikes right from the hotel.
The hotel lacks a weekly schedule of guided hikes. Self-guided activities could be better coordinated with such information.
Rooms
9/10
The room offered consistently hot running water. The bed was comfortable. There was lots of space available inside the room.
Dining
10/10
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were very good. The variety was enormous. I found vegetarian options to be thoughtfully catered to as well.
